Visit Ranklab at the TechZulu Startup Crawl for LA Startup Week
We are happy to announce that RankLab will be participating in TechZulu’s popular Startup Crawl on Thursday, October 23, 2014. A fixture in the LA tech scene, this TechZulu startup crawl will have considerable distinction as it will be the official startup crawl for the inaugural LA Startup Week which will celebrate all things tech LA from October 20-24th. LA is home to 876 startups, 59 incubators and accelerators, 38 co-working spaces and 15 hackerspaces. This dynamic community will be celebrated with a weeks’ worth of events that will both honor and engage the movers and shakers that help make the LA tech scene flourish.
Unsure of what a tech crawl is? Well…just imagine a bar crawl, you know one of those popular activities that friends do when they drink at multiple bars all in a single night, typically traveling by foot, bus, maybe even cycle? Okay, are you still imagining that bar crawl? Well flip it and reverse it because with their tech crawls, TechZulu has captured the spirit of the bar crawl but has replaced the dingy bar interiors with bright, inviting work spaces —home to some of the best tech startups residing in Silicon Beach. And instead of seeing people, sitting idly staring at their drink you’ll meet and network with some of the best tech entrepreneurs that LA has to offer. Add a popular beverage and maybe even a snack or two as you’re guided from tech startup to tech startup.
Three companies (ROC, JetPack and Ranklab) will be opening their doors to the public on Thursday. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the inner workings of how a tech startup is run. It will also give you the chance to meet many of the best and brightest in the LA tech world all in a casual environment. If you’re an entrepreneur who’s always been curious of their neighbors next door or someone who wants to work their way up the ladder in the tech world, these tech crawls are a great chance to build new relationships and learn why Silicon Beach has earned its well-deserved reputation as the new Silicon Valley. All events at LA Startup week are open to the public and free so we hope that we see a lot of new, old and very familiar faces on Thursday. With the Halloween spirit in the air, we can promise that our portion of the tech crawl will be a tad bit spooky. Costumes are not mandatory.
